A charming 19th century oil on canvas American folk art portrait painitng of a farmhouse, in an early, if not original, salmon pink and green painted wood frame. The mustard yellow farmhouse with white door has a grey barn attached. There is smoke emanating from two of the three visible chimneys. The house is sited by the road in a hilly landscape among tall leafy trees and a fruit orchard of smaller trees to the left, all enclosed by a split rail fence with a lady in white blouse and long red skirt by the entrance gate. Another charming detail is the depiction of a red water pump at the front right hand corner of the house. Unsigned.
