A fine quality French Empire period table with carved marble top over a baluster-form pedestal with finely carved lotus leaves over a tripod base with carved lotus leaves and boldly carved animal paw feet. The table is stamped Jacob, one of the most prominent Parisian furniture makers in the early 19th century.
Provenance: Purchased at H.M. Luther, NYC by William Hodgins who designed the interiors for a grand house in the Boston area.
